·I have loved and cared for pets since the mid 1970’s and have been very active in dog rescue since joining the AKC parent clubs for Irish Setters and Gordon Setters in 1996.I am the Rescue Coordinator for the Irish Setter Club of America covering twelve states in the southern region of the United States.I am on the Board of the National Rescue Committee and the Florida Rescue Coordinator for the Gordon Setter Club of America. ·I participated in the Walter Turken Training for Adoption Program in 1999 at the Humane Society in Naples, Florida.This program was developed by pet behavior specialist Brian Kilcommons to provide shelter dogs awaiting adoption with the training necessary to become canine good citizens more appropriate for adoption, ultimately reducing the euthanasia rate in the United States.

·I lived in Staten Island, New York, where I worked for the Staten Island Zoo.At that time, I was working towards my education in Zoology.I was an animal handler for the Zoo and helped build the Children’s Petting Zoo.I have had many animals in my life, and I have traveled to many parts of this country and overseas.No matter where I was, there has always been involvement with animals of all kinds.
