About Bonnie
· Hi! My name is Bonnie Foster. My background is in property management, bookkeeping, and secretarial services. I have a current State of Florida Notary Commission to serve the needs of my pet sitting clients. · I have loved and cared for pets since the mid 1970’s and have been very active in dog rescue since joining the AKC parent clubs for Irish Setters and Gordon Setters in 1996. I am the Rescue Coordinator for the Irish Setter Club of America covering twelve states in the southern region of the United States. I am on the Board of the National Rescue Committee and the Florida Rescue Coordinator for the Gordon Setter Club of America. · I participated in the Walter Turken Training for Adoption Program in 1999 at the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. This program was developed by pet behavior specialist Brian Kilcommons to provide shelter dogs awaiting adoption with the training necessary to become canine good citizens more appropriate for adoption, ultimately reducing the euthanasia rate in the United States. · I have gained much experience with the training and medical care of special-needs rescued animals that I have worked with over the past dozen years. About Irene
· Hi! My name is Irene Comer. I am a certified paralegal and worked in the law field for many years. · I lived in Staten Island, New York, where I worked for the Staten Island Zoo. At that time, I was working towards my education in Zoology. I was an animal handler for the Zoo and helped build the Children’s Petting Zoo. I have had many animals in my life, and I have traveled to many parts of this country and overseas. No matter where I was, there has always been involvement with animals of all kinds. · I started my pet sitting business in October, 1999 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am now taking my business to Sunny Florida, hopefully in early 2009, and hoping to have as many happy clients in Florida as I had in Oklahoma. I am insured with Pet Sitters Associates, LLC. · I was very active with Greyhound Pets of America in Tulsa. I was on the Board of Halfway Home Greyhound Adoption. I am also a member of the Irish Setter Club of America, and was their Rescue representative for Oklahoma and Arkansas. From time to time I helped out with German Shepard Rescue, and always volunteered with animal shelters all over Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Texas, with constant involvement and care of animals with these groups.
